The final blog.

This will be my last post. Probably. I'm actually starting to enjoy this blogging thing. It's kinda cool. I'm more of a reader than a writer. I guess we'll see how it works out.

Here's the vid I promised.

This is Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra playing a song he wrote called 50 cent. It's pretty freaking sweet. Manchester is my favorite band, easily. I'll be seeing them in concert on May 30th. If you like music at all, you can appreciate their latest album, Mean Everything to Nothing. Amazing.

So in 12 days, I'll be leaving for Athens, Greece. I hope everything goes well. Keep me in your thoughts!

Caffeinated.

I had some mello-joy coffee from the chick-fil-a in the conference center this morning. It tasted like burnt feet. However true this may have been, it was also the single most caffeinated thing I've ever drank. And this is from the starbuck employee who regularly drank 4-6 shots of espresso. I currently feel like I am drugged and I can barely type!

I pretty much forgot about my CMCN take home test due today. I woke up at 730, went and grabbed a scantron, grabbed a cup of coffee and slammed through it. Suprisingly, I think I've done better on this test than the other two. Crazy.

And probably the highlight of my morning: My uncle Louie called. He called to tell me he was mailing me a $300 check towards my mission trip to Greece. What an encouraging and awesome phone call that was. He had a stroke approximately 7 weeks ago. He was unable to speak and bed ridden for a while. Now, 7 weeks later, he has regained all his health, is completely coherent, and is back at work. What a miracle!

That's all for now. I need to step this game up a little. Maybe I'll post a youtube video next time.

Where have I roamed?

Currently, I'm in Covington, LA. My uncle and his family live here. This is where you'll usually find me during breaks and such. It's pretty much my unofficial job. My uncle is a plumber and I tag along and help. I lived with them for a while when I was in high school. They're a great bunch.

Other a different note, I am missing my girlfriend quite terribly. Before the break, we got to hang out a few more times than usual and I guess that spoiled us. Other than that, things in the relationship department are running quite smoothly.

I need to start making more posts.

The Creek drank the Cradle you sang to

Today was my last day of work. Sweet. Not a bad morning overall, a little busy at the bux, plus my district manager was present and watching us work. That's a little lame. Overall, not bad though. I had a nice farewell at the end of my shift and marked out my last pound of coffee. I guess the beans had to stop flowing eventually.

I have to get through 3 more days until Spring Break. And God knows I desperately need this break. I have two essays to do and various things to get ready for Greece. I need some spiritual booster shots right now too. I'm running on empty.

I'm looking forward to tonight. For those who were not aware, Tuesday night is my date night. That means every Tuesday night, the lady and I go out on a date. Fun.

Somehow, somewhere and at some time, I grew up.

And so it goes

It is Saturday night. Tomorrow morning, after Church,  I will be heading to my girlfriend's parents home for Sunday lunch/dinner. Spooky.

I woke from a nap Thursday afternoon and I was sick. Today I went to the doctor. I have Sinusitis. I was prescribed a Z-pak and a corticosteriod. Hopefully I don't get "roid" rage and go nuts on anyone tomorrow. I feel a little ill.

I got loads of homework to do and little time to do it. I also need to pack some stuff to bring home with me this week so my burden won't be so great at the end of the semester.

My plans for the last day of school are as follows:
1) Take last final
2) Pack contents of room
3) Check out
4) Bring stuff home
5) Return to Lafayette
6) Crash somewhere for the night
7) Wake up early and leave for Greece

Hectic.

Thursday

Oh Thursday.

How you torment me with wisps of the weekend.
The excited feeling of a break well earned.
The coming weekend in sight.

Yet Thursday.
You are my persecutor.
You calmly and politely cause me to suffer.

Oh why.
Oh why, Thursday?

Yeah, It's definitely a Thursday. Today, me and three others showed up for class. Our teacher canceled class and now he's mad. Silly classmates. Uneventful morning opening at Starbucks. This, however is a special Thursday because it is the last Thursday I will open! Yay! Tuesday is my last day. Fiyah. Yeah, Fiyah.

Durr out.

In CMCN.

Man I am tired today. I'm not sure if it's the beginnings of illness or just my lack of sleep beginning to catch up with me. I could use another 6 or 7 hours of sleep today. But not today. No can do. No free time today. Unfortunately.

On a side note, a friend's mom commented on my relationship status change in facebook. She said some nice things and it was encouraging. It's one thing for your friends to say nice things about you and it's another for someone who's not biased to say those same things. And that brings me to my next point. My relationship. It's facebook official now. That means it's real.

I was kinda bummed out about it because I told my pastor about my relationship and he didn't have quite the reaction I had hoped for. It's just a little discouraging. But everyone else in the life, leader wise, seems to be happy or ok with it. They all have offered up some great advice too. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

Maybe I'm not.

New Stuff

Guess what?

I got a new computer! Not just any old computer either. It's 24" Apple iMac (3.06 ghz processor, nVidia 512 M Video Card, 1 TB 7200 rpm hdd, 16x SuperDrive dvd-rw/cd-rw). Gotta love it.

So pretty much my entire last week or so has just been me playing with and transferring stuff to my new computer. I like it a lot so far. I've been downloading plug-ins and stuff for compatibility. And I also had to figure out a way to write to my external hard drives, which are both NTFS, but I worked that out as well.

Nothing else new.

The Absence of CMCN 338.

I haven't updated in a while. That's probably because, for a series of good and proper reasons, CMCN 338 has been canceled. A lot has happened since last time. Let me fill you in.

First and foremost, Ladies, I am now off the market. This should not come as a suprise to you, my one blog follower, because you have already been told. As for anyone else who stumbles across this blog, I would just like to say "Boo-yah".

This week is absolutely killing me. I had to work 26 hours. That means open tuesday, close wednesday, open thursday, close friday and close saturday. I work at Starbucks by the way. So open means 5 am and close means 1030 pm. Lame! And that coupled with the 20 hours of classes I stupidly scheduled (2 tests this week) and the arrival of my new 24" iMac, yeah, I've been busy.

Well class is starting. I'm out.

Monotony

Today started as if it were a regular Thursday. I got about 3 hours of sleep and had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. As usual, I had to go into work at Starbucks. As usual, I had to work the Bar. As usual, I had to work alone. As usual, it was the longest four hours of my life. As usual.

I was feeling kind of sick and out of it for the last week or so, but I'm feeling better today. I seem to be a little more alert and clear-headed. I even had an idea for a short story. It would start with the line "Today is the last day of my life" and be a short story about the last day of a man's life. I would tell the story using details from my everyday life, which is pretty average and regular. I think it would be pretty realistic as I will be using real details from a real life other than just a story. Any thoughts?

Maybe it's just the realization of some great universal truths or the utter clarity which was bestowed upon me today, but today feels like a good day.

On a side note, my car is filthy.

The Beginning

Hi there. I'm new to the blog world. While I've enjoyed reading an infinite number of other people's blogs, this will be the first of my very own.

The first question I must propose then is how personal should a blog be?
Should I be sharing my innermost secrets?
Should I be bearing my soul here on the internet for countless numbers of middle aged men to read?

I am going to say no.

This blog will be a light journal for me, detailing my life on a (hopefully) weekly basis. Maybe you can find some inspiration in it. Maybe not. Ha.

Oh well, class is starting. Peace out.
